Aquatic Coral reef response

To start off, I really like what Sylvia Earle had to say and what she liked to do. It was not only interesting but pretty cool. My response to that is that it's not good that the aquatic biomes of not only the Atlantic but all over the world are being pushed away and destroyed. The limiting factor is human disturbance and and the rapid climate change of the water that is affecting the population of the reefs. This would be called the density-independent limiting factor. The predator-prey realtionship is not affecting the population decrease as a limiting factor like the weather and climate changes are. High tempreatures could wipe out coral around the world and take nutrients from the species. Density-dependent limiting factors like competition and parastism are not affecting the population growth as much as human disturbance, which Sylvia Earle is trying to protect the reefs from. My personal connection to these biomes is that it affects me in many ways by way of nature and what people get from coral reefs but other than that I don't have personal connection. The rule humans play in the bioshpere is that we either use it for recources or help destroy it. Steps need to be taken like Sylvia Earle is trying to do to protect it. I don't think that people are completly oblivious to the impact on this biome so I think people are some what aware of it but not educated about the matter enough to do anything to help the issue. It is not anybodys fault it's just the truth. The health of the coral reefs is not the best at this time. Seasonal cylces and unusal weather is changing the daily climate of the biome which is affecting the species and the population size. The species don't need more space and recources as mucg as the biome is just being destroyed.
